Sports Media & Entertainment 360 (SME 360)
The SME 360 team are delighted to have teamed up with Eddie McGuire to launch the Neon Run in support of the Magpie Nest Foundation to tackle the issue of Homelessness in Melbourne.
The foundation provides quality and safe accommodation and importantly, case management support with expertise in mental health services, employment and training assistance.
Homelessness in Melbourne is on the rise, due to people facing financial difficulties, housing stress, unemployment, domestic violence, mental health and substance abuse issues.
Together we can all play a small part to help raise funds to support this important cause.
Please enter the Neon Run to be held on Saturday evening, 3rd March 2018 at Yarra Park in the shadows of the MCG. The 5 km fun run around the world’s greatest sporting precinct will include music zones, vibrant colours, DJ’s and food trucks.
Thank you in advance for your support.
Martin Jolly – Founder and CEO, SME 360
There is no reason for anyone in Melbourne to be homeless. It is unacceptable.
I believe that homelessness is preventable and that by working together we can all play a major role in reducing the incidence of homelessness in our society.
It is inevitable that some people will fall through the cracks, but it is shameful that we cannot provide them with a safe landing.
Magpie Nest provides genuine care and support – and a pathway out of homelessness. It provides a range of services and most importantly it provides respect for the most isolated and vulnerable people in our society.
There are other great programs and truly amazing people helping the homeless. Lord Mayor Robert Doyle and the City of Melbourne deserve credit for taking up this issue. The State Government is funding a range of innovative programs. Everyone agrees on one thing. More must be done.
I hope that you will get behind the Neon Run as it will make a difference to the lives of so many people.
Thank you to the event owner and promoter, SME 360 and to all of our support sponsors.
